Moving to Remain in Place: Micro-Mobilities and Circular Migration as Adaptive Strategies to Gendered Climate Risks in Fiji and Samoa

The project will examine whether and how temporary and short-distance movements can contribute to climate-affected people’s ability to remain in their area of origin. The project is expected to enhance applied knowledge creation on climate-related mobility and immobility, foster research capacities of early-career researchers and support the development and revision of climate adaptation policies, displacement frameworks and planned relocation guidelines in Fiji and Samoa and across other Pacific Island nations.
